Cynthia Ann Crawford was born on February 20, 1966. She is an American actress, model and television host. In the 1980s and 1990s, she was among the most popular supermodels and a ubiquitous presence on runways and magazine covers, as well as fashion-related campaigns. In the years following she expanded her acting abilities and entered into business. Her sophomore year of high school saw her get an email from a local apparel store about modeling work. She later discovered that it was a joke call by two of her students. Crawford was one of the high school girls employed by another store, who also did a fashion shoot. Roger Legel (a local photographer) approached Crawford during her junior year of high school to photograph her. The project included shooting with Crawford for the magazine. The picture and the favorable feedback she received were enough to convince her to take up modeling. At first, she worked with a small modeling agency. Elite Model Management sold her to the agency shortly after signing. At the age of 17, she entered Elite's Look of the Year contest and was able to make it to the finals at national level.
